Brain Drain

Lame jokes: Jokes that irritate people because the answer is totally random and they have absolutely no chance of getting it right

Econs paper tomorrow, and I have totally zero hope of passing my maths (if I don't buck up now) which explains why I'm experiencing severe brain drain right now. I cna't eevn bolg porperly. Wow.

Went for Mr Forrest Lim's wake yesterday with mixed feelings, namely apprehension, sympathy and confusion. It was my first time being at a teacher's wake (and I do hope I'll never have to attend one again) and I'm still a little traumatized by the whole thing - it's just too surreal and I can't bring myself to believe it. I have no pictures of it due to obvious reasons.

His cousin explained to us about the cause of his death and I think it was the first time all of us actually understood what he was going through - why he tends to speak so slowly and how he actually felt everytime he stepped into an air-conditioned room (just for our sake, I might add). And all the times we made him angry, I had no idea we were aggravating his condition.

Then our 'tour guide' told us that he 'loved his students' and said we were 'good boys and girls'.

I am assuming he didn't tell us about his syndrome because he didn't want us to worry. Which makes me kinda pissed off because he totally knew he was weak but yet he kept pushing himself and working so hard just so we could get an 'A' for our PW. He didn't even get to see our I&R.. :'(

According to his cousin, his illness was a 'family curse' and would be passed down to the sons in the bloodline. And I am assuming that's why he didn't get married...

On a brighter note, I guess death put an end to his suffering (morphine...!! wth?).

Thank you Mr Lim, for everything you've done for us, for marking our WRs so conscientiously and putting in the effort to judge our OPs before our prelims. We really appreciate it. Sorry for all the times we made you pissed off or angry because we were showing you slipshod work. May you rest in peace.

Discrimination

Apparently there is some discrimination going on in the world of sports goods, shoes in particular. Sizes for Adidas and Nike footwear never go above 9.0 for ladies with some exceptions. Thus, shoes with relatively more attractive designs are limited only to women whose feet are small enough, while the rest have to choose from the not-so-pretty designs. So, women with large feet have to wear men's shoes, is it?

Excuse me, if I am not mistaken, the era when women in China used to bind their feet is, uh, over? This is not Cinderella hor, tall women with large feet exist! Tall women with small feet are horrendously so not balanced.

Atrocious. (Janson don't laugh at me please)

I&R is super irritating. You have to complete it, but it gets pushed to the back of your mind 'cos you can't really be bothered about it with exams starting so soon and besides it isn't even counted anyway (I think), but it stays there and nags relentlessly at you nonetheless. I mean, I love Beatrice Choong, but really, PW is pointless.

Anyway good luck for promos everyone. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger :)

Superheroes and Underwear

Sorry I haven't been posting for so long ( thanks for all the tags lovelies I do read them, even if I don't reply them :) )

Did I mention that I'm ending Kumon next month? :D

An eventful weekend spent mugging and talking about superheroes and their not-so-intimate/private wear.

Why does Superman wear such an inconspicuous 'inner wear' on the outside?
1) To attract attention to his crotch area, lah!
2) Sponsored by, thus must endorse Nike/ Adidas/ (some company prolific in its marketing and publicity efforts)
3) Superheroes need to be distinguishable from the normal human being, thus have to deviate from normal human behaviour of keeping inner wear in, thus have to abnormally do what they do

Then Valerie said that in the real Superman movie, the producers had to digitally enhance 'dehance' the size of his *ahem* 'cos it was too large. :o All women would be happier if that applied to them too..

So we went on to Batman (whom we think exudes more 'cool' because he has opted for more indistinguishable underwear), Spiderman (whom does not wear any attention-grabbing inner wear on the outside but simultaneously shows his lack of sponsors, thus does not need to endorse), Wonder Woman (and wondered why she didn't wear her _ on the outside as well, since superheroes have a propensity of doing that) and even the Incredibles (who ALL wear a combination of red and black)

I personally think superheroes who wear their inner wear on the outside are quite dumb, I mean when they send it to the laundry they'll have to wash the whole suit instead of just the inner wear. Then I was opposed why an indignant one who claimed, "They wear on the inside also lah!"

Okay lor, fine.

I just realised that this blog post is utterly pointless, but since I've already typed it out..

Good luck for promos everyone :)
